Early Tuesday afternoon, Idaho State Police responded to a severe crash between a car and a semi-truck on US93 south of Twin Falls. The tragic accident occurred at approximately 12:41 PM at mile marker 38, resulting in the death of one of the drivers.
A 37-year-old woman from Twin Falls, ID, was driving a 2004 Cadillac Deville southbound on US93 when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a 2017 Freightliner semi-truck pulling a flatbed trailer. The semi-truck was driven by a 47-year-old man, also from Twin Falls. Unfortunately, the driver of the Cadillac sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The accident caused significant disruption, blocking both northbound and southbound lanes of the highway for approximately three hours. The Idaho State Police were assisted by the Filer Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics, and the Idaho Transportation Department in managing the scene and reopening the highway.
